Next we revised this in a variety of situations, then wrote the rule for finding the variance (see note after example 4). Next went back to question 1 and calculated the variance VAR(X) for each example. Finally we learned that the standard deviation SD(X), is the square root of the variance, so we went back to each problem and found this too. Homework is pages 7 and 9 of the new workbook. (5-8-15)
